About me:
<br>I want to extend a warm welcome to everyone who visits this site locally, nationally and internationally. I have been engaged with work related to FASD since the early 1990s in my previous work in child welfare in Alberta. I am a professor in the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary where I have worked since 2002. My research interests in FASD have focused on child welfare, women's health/birth mothers, FASD prevention and curriculum development for post secondary education on FASD fo social work students.I am a member of the Canada FASD Research Network Action Team on Women's Social Determinants of Health and on the Steering Committee for the Prairie Child Welfare Consortium. I have been actively engaged in research on FASD since 2003. In 2012 I developed and taught a course called FASD and Child Welfare Practice in a blended learning format for undergraduate and graduate social work students in Alberta and Manitoba. More to come on research and educational activities being developed for this website.
